one friend of mine got into the trouble to make a huge matrix module showing simple stuff like the time. he got endless trouble with the power supply, the temperature (>50 or 60 degrees easily reached on sunny days i dont remember values but caused problems on dissipators) and the led brighntess as well . he said he would never involve with displays again heheh!
Maybe the power supply didn't have enough wattage.
But it's an important point.
I assembled one before, but the seller shipped everything to me, the P10 modules, the frame, cables, controller and power supply.
It worked like a charm.
OK, so you mean that these modules have standard fonts inside them ? well that's nice.
And will this font support attaching multiple rows and columns of P10s ?
If so then problem of programming is solved.
If not, then I guess I have to set custom arrays to fit the size. I think your library has font set and size.
With the video on YouTube which has an Arduino board programming a P10. I think it's easier than the MAX7219 with those small dot matrix modules.
no, the modules understands pixels only. You should using software fonts, if you need any.
I just meant that the coding for non-latin alphabet has some difficulties. But for English it doesn't matter.
Thank you so much man ! Really appreciate your continuous support.
OK, now I'm searching for a good seller for the P10. Found one on Alibaba, but I haven't bought anything through Alibaba, all my purchases are through Aliexpress.
But the P10 on Aliexpress are really expensive with also high shipping cost.
My next options after Aliexpress, are the local market in Saudi Arabia or through Alibaba if I could find a good deal there.
Sorry, I don't know. Never work with such panels.
You mean large 7 segment displays ?
What size are you looking for ?
Same one in the picture.
I also want to know how is it in size compared to the P10.
Not a good answer
Maybe that is a very small sign and the 7 segment displays are only 10mm high
@wolfrose , I found the following youtube video which may be of interest:
if you only need some kind of 7 segment displays and you want to build them out of Neopixel/ WS2811 strips you can have a look at my library:
https://werner.rothschopf.net/202005_arduino_neopixel_display_en.htm
It supports up to 64 LEDs per digit (aprox 8 LEDs per segment).
I think these panels are hard to find.
Like this one:
I've decided today to design a panel of 4x4 P10 displays for each parking counter.
Like this:
OK, I found it on Alibaba:
But I think the problem is that they could be a bit expensive compared to P10.
