Seven problems to pay attention to when selecting a linear module

Linear module is a highly integrated transmission platform, also known as linear module, rectangular coordinate robot, linear rail, etc. The linear and curved motion of the load can be realized through the combination of each unit, which makes the automation of light loads more flexible and the positioning more precise. Linear modules have been developed so far and have been widely used in a variety of equipment. In today's dazzling linear module market, if the company's equipment wants to match the ideal module, the following selection elements can be used for your reference.

First we need to be clear:
1.Classification and characteristics of modules (e.g: ball screw and belt drive, closed and open, dual-axis and trackless design)
2.The type of module applicable to the equipment in the industry (e.g: low noise, lubrication-free, side-mounted, etc.)

Then refer to the following selection elements of the module——
1、Position Accuracy:
Generally, the accuracy of the screw module is higher than that of the belt module, and the positioning accuracy of the screw is ±0.01~±0.02, and the positioning accuracy range of the belt module is ±0.5~±0.1mm;
2. Effective Stroke:
The stroke of the screw is limited, and the stroke of the belt can be several times that of the screw. However, the longer the stroke, the more difficult it is to control the accuracy. If the accuracy is not high and want a long stroke, you can consider the belt module;
3.Speed:
You can know the no load, horizontal full-load and vertical full-load speeds of the module. Generally, the running speed is related to the lead and motor;
4.Loading:
Pay attention to the installation method of the linear module (horizontal, vertical, side hanging), and understand the maximum horizontal load, the maximum vertical load and the force distance of the allowable load;
5.Use environment:
Select closed, open or semi enclosed modules according to the environment where the equipment is located (such as high temperature, vibration, oil, water, corrosion), closed modules are suitable for clean rooms;
6.Internal configuration and accessories reference:
Brand and processing technology of key components;
7.Motor brand:
Need to consider motor speed, power, brand.

Finally, when the engineer purchases the modules required for the equipment project, the consideration of the comprehensive use cost is also an important part. Because the key to the linear module is movement and positioning, which will involve a series of issues such as technical support after purchase, after-sales upgrade, capacity matching, professional certification, intellectual property rights, etc. Therefore, it is recommended to consider not only cost performance, but also cost-effectiveness when choosing. Pay attention to the brand protection of powerful factories.
