Sorry, I know most if not all of these are probably known and reported, but just in case.
In the last two days with 2.3.6 I have had:
a) It appeared to hang at startup with just the logo... Killed the process restarted fine.
b) Started the IDE, it looked like it was trying to reload two sketches. On one of them, it popped up message about some setting changed and needs to restart. I told it to restart, and window that came up did not have menu bar, Serial monitor area on right side but not the monitor... Looked like it may not have fully restarted. So killed the process restarted IDE and worked ok...
c) Open sketch - where there is a symbolic link, to a directory with the several sketches
Windows (mklink /J ...) And the file comes up Read-only (known). Normally I close it and reload from recent which works...
But I have had a few times where when I open a sketch, it shows two tabs for the INO file, even though there is only one file. Like below:
I tried opening again from recent... This time opened the same. Likewise this time,
I tried to browse to it using the open menu and again the same: Note: if I hover
over the filename on the left it shows the: dereferenced path to my:
d:\github... and if I hover on the tab to the right it shows it as the linked file name:
c:\users\kurte\arduino... I tried also to do the open browse to it through d: drive...
and it finally came up with just the one file ...
Note: again I am not sure why this is happening in this case and I have seen this a few other times, but most of the time it simply opens the one file RO and then go to the recent and reopen and all is good.
I know most of the above are known issues, but thought I would mention this last
one in case it was not...
All my code, etc, is on Microsoft Cloud OneDrive. I keep a copy on the Mac's main SSD and a copy in the cloud. There are always two copies, and since I set it up that way, there are zero issues.
I know @KurtE is already aware of it, but in order to make relevant information available to others who are interested in this subject, I'll share a link to the formal bug report the Arduino IDE developers are using to track this:
