SIMCOM SIM900 with Arduino Mega Help pls

Hi, everybody i trying to do a little project as part of a security system. I wanted to send a sms via the SIMCOM SIM900 GSM/GPRS shield when the input of a PIR sensor is high. I read many article on how to send sms but they all work only with Arduino uno but i am using Arduino Mega. Can someone point me in the right direction pls. :’( :’( :’(

The Shield i am using: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SIMCOM-SIM900-Quad-band-GSM-GPRS-Shield-for-Arduino-with-micro-SD-card-slot-/151121095914?hash=item232f84ecea:g:JJ4AAOxyyvRSMkw0

Hi,

No, the Sim900 shield cannot work when plugged on to the 2560.

This link explains why and shows how to wire it up to work.

Looking at the picture of that shield cannot clearly see the i/o port jumpers and what pins they refer to.

Typically its pin 7 and 8 but have seen some with different ones, so check what your states.

As metioned in that link have you downloaded its schematic as there are slight differences with an Ardunio shield, eg the power switch, they yes/no jumper ?

Edit - seems that board used pins 2 and 3 instead of 7 and 8 for its software serial. You also need the schematic to find out what pin is used for the software Power On/Off line

Thank you sir, i have been able to send sms with my shield using the arduino mega with your tutorial. :) :) :) :) :) . Thank you very much
