I am uploading a sketch to my UNO R4 Wifi and it doesn’t start until I press the reset button. My earlier arduino uno didn’t do this. Is there a reason for this?
Thanks.

There may be a technical reason, but I find that on certain sketches, the reset needs to be pressed to get the sketch to run from the start and have a clean monitor page.
How do you know that it doesn't start?
There must be a reason. It might be somewhere in your sketch
The lights don’t start to flash on the breadboard until I hit reset. It’s a very simple sketch.
That could simply be the bootloader handshake.
Du you have any known code that runs in setup() ? Perhaps a Serial.begin() and .print() ?
And how do you know that the lights flashing has anything to do with your sketch running? And how do we know, for that matter?
I guess we'll have to take your word for that. Good luck with your project; I'm done playing guessing games.
