**SOLVED**How to clear ADAfruit OLED

I am using the Adafruit_SSD1306 library.

When I use the display.clearDisplay(); function it just blinks the display. How does one actually clear the display?

EDIT: FIXED WITH A LITTLE MORE TINKERING.
