[solved] Serial Monitor running in task bar but can't switch to full window

I run code with Serial.print("blah"). No compile errors. Upload. Click on serial monitor icon to open. Nothing appears.
But in task bar serial monitor can be seen at small scale. Can't bring up as full-size window by clicking, by alt+Tab, by close other windows, etc.

Arduino IDE ver 1.0.5 on Win 7

This is re-query of Can't view serial monitor window (anymore...) - IDE 1.x - Arduino Forum

The Arduino IDE is not very robust in my experience and you may find that the problem goes away if you just close and reopen the IDE, or reboot the PC and try again.

Windows often tries to remember the previous position of a window and will re-open it in the same position. If that position happens to be off the desktop, you could either maximise the window or use the mouseless move commands to bring it back onto the desktop. To maximise you would shift+right-click the taskbar icon and select maximise. To move the window mouslessly you would shift+right-click the taskbar icon and select move, then use the arrow keys to move it (if you move it in any direction it will start by jumping back into your desktop).

I don't know whether this is your problem, but it gives you a couple of things to try.

PeterH:
You were right on the money. I moused over arduino stack in the task bar then slid up to the Ser Mon tile, Ctrl+SHift+Right click and selected max.
I had been using a projector so I'll bet it was position off-screen as you surmised.
Much Thanks.
