as for the motors, if i add that into the loop, it will stop the motors during the run cycle,

im playing with a boolean condition and an if statement. i got the idea from this thread

The way to do what you're asking is to use a boolean variable, initially false. Check whether it's true before you do the lcd display part and if it is, don't display anything and set it true. I doubt that's really what you need though. How about checking if the value has changed and only if it has, display on the LCD?
