Switch Problem Conection

Hey, my problem is that I need to add a switch to turn off my project. I connect it this way:

But the problem is it does nothing..
How should I connect it to turn off the power?
I can provide you with more schematics if it helps, but I just want to turn off the project using a switch. I connected one to solar panels too so I can turn them off when I'm using a wall adapter.

Is this the is switch that you are asking about ?
It does nothing

Both to be honest, it should power off the project+solar panels.

What about the battery ?
Does that need a switch too ?
