Synth Shield

Hey everybody,

I just found this amazing video of synth shield for Arduino :

EDIT: The video is mainly a tutorial. Sound can be heard at about 13min 35s and on kickstarter page.

It sounds really good and seems very easy to use.

Furthermore, the kickstarter is still active (link is in video description)
I've backed the project so I hope it will success.

What do you think about it ?

I think it is a really fun project, and cool.

It only steals pins 0 to 4 and 7. (DO 0,1,2,3,4, 7)

I hope that they can drive the product cost down so they are successful.
If they can hit a price point of less then $20, they should do well.
At $40 I don't think they will so so well.

There is no reason they should not be able to get the price down.
I think in some volume they should be able to produce at < $12.50, so $20 to $25 would be reasonable.

The big question is how many can they sell?
If they produce 4,000 boards at $12. cost they need $50k.
At $20 sale price they need to sell 2,500 boards to break even.

Given that they have sold about 100 boards on the kick start, I think they could reach that price point.
Depends on how well funded they are.
