Sorry if this isn't the right forum but I don't know where to post this.
I'm using the code found on https://playground.arduino.cc/Interfacing/CPPWindows/ to receive the serial output of my esp-wroom-32d (i know it isn't arduino but i didn't find anyway to use esp-idf to do the same thing, so i thought to post this here because i used code from the arduino website) directly on c++ (on a windows 11 machine) but all i get on the terminal is:

While on the arduino serial monitor the output displays correctly

As you can see the code in main.cpp and in the aduino ide is very trivial so i don't know what else could be the problem.
