Unrecognizable boar

Dears

I just purchased the board "Arduino Mega with integrated WIFI ESP8266" and wanted to connect it with the Arduino cloud using the procedure in "set up". It does not work, I can even not find my device on the list of possible devices. I tried bouth options:

  • looking under Arduino devices and
  • looking in the map of 3-th suorce devices

I got always the message that my device could not be find.

Im kindly asking for support. Thanks in advice

Sorry I cannot see what you are, can you tell me where are you looking? Where is the map? Is it an Arduino or clone?

Welcome to the forum.

You should have asked us before you bought it.

The "Wemos" Mega + ESP8266 is on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ATmega2560-ESP8266-USB-TTL-Compatible-Arduino/dp/B0CJ7Z6MLH/

Robodyn has also one, it is the same board: https://robotdyn.com/mega-wifi-r3-atmega2560-esp8266-flash-32mb-usb-ttl-ch340g-micro-usb.html

I'm afraid that it is not supported by the Arduino Cloud. It is not an Arduino board. I don't understand why someone would design such a board.

Clearing old stock maybe.

I think someone answered this before.

It is not possible.
You can't really program the ESP on the board by itself so it is not really possible.

Hi @antonkolaric. As was already well explained by the other forum helpers, your board can not be used as an Arduino Cloud Device.

However, you can still use the Arduino Cloud Editor to write all sorts of amazing Arduino sketches and upload them to your board. You just can't use the IoT features of Arduino Cloud (i.e., Things and dashboards). You can still do projects using the Wi-Fi communication capability of your board, just not with the use of Arduino Cloud's IoT framework.
