I get the following error:

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

Board is Duemilanove, Atmega 328
Operating system is Windows XP
Software is Arduino 0018

Uploaded several programs ok, but now get this error. Tried various suggestions on forum but no luck.

Any suggestions?

I ran into this problem once a while, but it seems that the problem goes a way if you give it a few tries (unplug your Arduino from USB, and plug it back in).

Did you give that a try, or it is still having the same problem?

Changed the chip...fixed the problem
