Hi,
I am wanting to get some advice on whether I should attempt to use a HMI interface that is currently on a bottle labelling machine I am trying to upgrade.
The machine has an broken PLC system, and as I can't work in PLC, I decided to move it over to Arduino Uno, or Mega R3.
So far I have the conveyor motor and sensor running, as well as the Stepper motor which applies the labels. I am waiting on a rotary encoder so I can synch the speed of the conveyor to the stepper motor.
In the meantime I am wondering if I am on a fool's errand trying to use the screen it is. It is a Delta HMI - DOP-B07S411. At the moment I cannot find a driver for it, so I cannot get into it via USB, but I did find this discussion that mentioned it, but there were not answers for the person that asked about it.
What I want from the interface is the ability to use a touch screen to control the machine and make calibration adjustments more easily than by uploading new, adjusted, code. Of course I have not written that part of the code yet. Small steps.
I would appreciate any thoughts or guidance. If the general opinion is to abandon the screen, then any suggestions of a good touch screen to use for this purpose would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
