I'm trying to get the LED in a DPDT Illuminated Rocker switch working. It says 240V 15A on the site, but the datasheet also says it's rated for 35A 12VDC. Getting the arduino to recognise on/off is simple, but not sure if I can get the light working? I have an external 12V power supply which I assume I'll need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
For anyone with a similar question, I think I found my answer... The light inside is not an LED but an incandescent bulb. I switched it out on the inside and it now works as expected without any external power source.
Good message to other members!
An LED can be powered/controlled by an Arduino but not a bulb.

According to the information on the link provided, the lamp is in fact a neon bulb.
Neons are not suitable for low voltage circuits as they require a voltage of around 90V to 'strike'.
