Voltage regulator

Hi,

I really need an AMS1117 6V but there is no one available close to me. However an electronic shop sells this chip UA7806. I took a look at the datasheet but didnt understand very well cause the AMS1117 datasheeet is much easier to understand.

Do you know if this chip UA7806 provides output voltage of 6 volts if I use an input voltage of 12v?

The datasheet I found here -> http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ua78l05a.pdf

The AMS1117 datasheet doesn't show a fixed 6V output version. o.0

The AMS1117 has an output current of 1A (1000 mA). The uA78L06 has an output current of 100 mA. It would not be suitable if you want more than 100 mA. It also has a typical voltage output of 6.2V.

Thank you! And what about this UA78LR05 ? I just need 400ma. Actually I think this voltage regulator will work for my case but it has 5 legs, why? I am used with only 3 legs: gnd input output.

The data sheet will explain what the legs do.

Ok but I see 2 legs are "reset" stuff... I think this voltage regulator is not safe to use (at least for a beginner) cause I may do sometihng wrong and burn my expensive radio receiver.
