We want to implement edge computing in our IOT project.

New to edge computing, please help us how to install, configure edge computing in our arduino project

We want to implement edge computing in our IOT project.

What project? We can't help you if we have no idea what project you are talking about. We are not telepathic.

What is 'edge computing'? Sounds like a marketing term.

Please read 'how to use this forum - please read', then use the advice in there to post a meaningful question we can answer.

Thank you.

According to Google 'Edge Computing' is;

"Edge computing is a distributed computing paradigm which brings computation and data storage closer to the location where it is needed, to improve response times and save bandwidth"

What this has to do with @VeeraSekhar unknown project we can only guess.

Thank you for responses....

Our project is related to automation of soil classification(Civil related project) using load cell and Arduino Uno...

we are able to store the data in our web hosting database...

Now we got new requirement like without using any web hosting we need to store the data using edge devices.

Please do the needful for this

"Edge computing is a distributed computing paradigm which brings computation and data storage closer to the location where it is needed, to improve response times and save bandwidth"

I was right then, marketing boll.... (this is a polite forum, I won't say the word!)

Please do the needful for this

Please explain what this means.

By the definition posted by srnet I guess any Arduino counts as 'edge' computing. Once you have read 'how to use this forum - please read' post your efforts on here and ask questions for the bits you are struggling with.

I do find myself wondering if you are asking for someone to do this for you. If that's the case then please click 'report to moderator' and ask them to move this to 'gigs and collaborations'. People there are willing to carry out commissions for a fee.

So pretty much what the desktop computer did in a world of mainframes 40-odd years ago?

Maybe it's a backlash against IOT

VeeraSekhar:

Start by defining what an edge device means in this context.

Once that's done, perhaps someone could help you store data on them.

I've merged your cross posts @VeeraSekhar.

Cross posting is against the rules of the forum. The reason is that duplicate posts can waste the time of the people trying to help. Someone might spend 15 minutes writing a detailed answer on this thread, without knowing that someone else already did the same in the other thread.

Repeated cross posting will result in a suspension from the forum.

In the future, please take some time to pick the forum section that best suits the topic of your question and then only post once to that forum section. This is basic forum etiquette, as explained in the sticky "How to use this forum - please read." post you will find at the top of every forum section. It contains a lot of other useful information. Please read it.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hi All,

I posted in wrong group...sorry please

But you still haven't told us what an "edge device" is or does? Do you actually understand what that requirement means yourself? If so please tell us.

Steve

An edge device is any piece of hardware that controls data flow at the boundary between two networks. Edge devices fulfill a variety of roles, depending on what type of device they are, but they essentially serve as network entry (or exit) points. Some common functions of edge devices are the transmission, routing, processing, monitoring, filtering, translation and storage of data passing between networks.

VeeraSekhar:
An edge device is ....

OK that's a definition, reads like you took it from a book, so what does that mean specifically in the context of:

VeeraSekhar:
we need to store the data using edge devices.

What devices do you want to use, what do you want them to do, where does that all fit in with Arduino...
