How do i work out what power supply for ws2812b 5v led strip? The specs say 0.3w/led. Thanks in advance.
Maximum current per pixel is 60ma (maximum brightness of white, 255,255,255)
Say you have 60 pixels, 60 * 60ma = 3600ma. 3.6 amps @ 5 volts.
Power = Voltage x Current
so
Current = Power / Voltage
For each of your leds, Current = 0.3W / 5V = 0.06A = 60mA
That's how larryd worked it out. He probably knew that anyway. Each Ws2812 contains 3 leds (r, g, b) which draw about 20mA each.
