I can see three way of doing that

  • Use a arduino with usb like a leonardo or a micro pro to send keyboard commands to the pc
  • Have a application on the pc that communicates with arduino and shuts down the pc. There are sleep on lan/wake on lan programs
  • Have arduino to control the shutdown pin on the motherboard

This computer has no on / off button. This computer is always on, and if the voltage falls out, I want the Arduino computer turned off. It is an Siemens HMI Simatic Touch Panel.

Can you be more specific about this method because I am trying to do this. I am trying to simulate the power key found on some keyboards, but without results.
