Which Motor is Suitable for CNC Plasma Cutter

Hi,
I'm New to Arduino. I want to build CNC Plasma Cutter. Mostly 1x2Mtr Table

I have Arduino Uno with CNC Shield v3 and 8825 Drivers.

I have not yet purchased PSU and Stepper Motors.

Im planning for 2 Motors for X axis, 1 for Y and 1 for Z .

Designed CNC X frame is weighing not more than 20Kg Including y and Z axis mounted on it. motion Speed required is approx 100 mm /S. ( No problem if Speed is less )

Motors im planning to buy are Nema 17 with 5.2:1 Planetary gearbox.
Here is Motor's datasheet.

Bholanath Nema17 Geared Motor

As it says - Current per phase is .85A -and Operating Voltage is 24-50V.
What is Minimum requirement Current output of PSU.

1. Which PSU is suitable ?
please specify A & V of PSU. ( Consider 4 Motors)

2. Do I have to Use Stepper Drive separately or can just connect motors directly to 8825 ?

3. Please guide me how to trigger Plasma flame ? ( pin out for same. )

Seen Lots of videos but Cant find any who can describe motor selection. or telling which motors used.

Note : Please go through http://steppermotors.bholanath.in/ for any other suitable motor selection.

Please guide.

Thanks

You need to measure the torque required to move the positioner axes, and should buy motors that produce at least twice that.

My guess is that those motors will not be suitable - because they have high-resistance and low-current coils they will not step as fast as a motor with a low coil resistance and higher current. And on top of that you have the speed reduction due to the gearbox.

Also, the backlash in the gearbox will make it difficult to achieve precise positioning. Where gearing is needed toothed belts are a better option as they have no backlash.

You should start by measuring the torque needed to move your machine. Then select a suitable motor. The select a motor driver and power supply.
