I am looking to set up smoke detectors around my house and I want to have them all wireless notify my arduino when the battery dies or if there is a fire. I want each to have its own address. And i need to keep the transmitter/receiver low voltage to keep the smoke detectors lasting a long time. Any ideas will help
If you only have one-way comms one thing you will have to handle is clashes when two sensors transmit at the same time. Then of course the sensors have to know that there was a clash, not sure how you would do that. If you have two-way comms that can be easily handled.
Jeenodes (http://jeelabs.org/) might be good for this.
