2 voltages sharing the same ground?

Hi, I working on a project with an Arduino and a stepper motor driver (A4988)

And there are 2 grounds, one for the 8-34v PSU for the motor, and another for the Arduino.

If I'm powering the Arduino (in this case a Nano) VA a USB and using the 5V pin on the Arduino to power then VDD and a 5V sensor with the rest of the circuit via a 12V PSU can everything share the same ground or do I need to separate out a ground for both the 5V and 24V?

Every thing can share the same ground. In fact, (I just checked) the 2 ground pins on the driver board are connected on the PC board.
