Hi, does anyone know of any 3D CAD files for the arduino? I don't mean the schematic or layout files, I'm looking for a 3D model that I can use in 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor). So does anyone have these, or should I just take the time and make a model myself?
Eagle has an add on that can generate 3D models from the PCB design
I have no idea what file formats Autodesk Inventor can import, but this page came up for me as the first result of a google search for "Arduino 3d model". You can probable use google sketchup to export this into a format autodesk can use.
Also here... Projects – Make: DIY Projects and Ideas for Makers which promises .3ds .dwg and .dxf versions which I'm sure Autodesk will like, but the site (bussoli.com is coming soon) seems to be down for me at the moment
I've imported the Duemilanove Eagle PCB file into the Pulsonix software I use, and can view it in 3D. I can export it in the following formats: DXF, GenCAD and UniDAT, if that helps. For an accurate representation, 3D data will need to be added to the various parts; as it stands it uses a default height for them.
