Hi all,
I need to make a simple pick and place machine with the normal X, Y and Z axis movements with single minimum mechanical end stop positioning. I would also like to be able to use the two extruder drives to operate a forth rotational axis and the second extruder as an optional axis (clamp) although (fan on / off would do for this), that are on the mega / ramps 1.4.
What I need though is to accurately home these two axis like the normal X, Y, Z axis. Using marlin software I assume that adding the extra axis in the homing line of code would work, it is more a case of the allocation to the end stops. Using minimum end stops only leaves the pins used for the maximum positions free, could these be recoded / re-allocated to operate the 4th and 5th axis positioning?
It would not matter if they were max or min positions.
I have built the normal type of core XY 3dp printer and also a 3axis router no problem, just this not sure if this is do-able.
Cheers,
Tony.
