Hi,
I want to wire 64 individual white LEDs to a cloth in an 8x8 grid. Googling I found that I should use a max7219 to control the leds.
How do I wire the positive and negative terminals of each led?
Each should be able to be controlled individually.
Thanks.

Have you tried googling "max7219 8x8 matrix"?
Pieter
Yes...it shows results for the prebuilt matrix...not for individual leds.
There were a few results for 3d cube but I couldn't understand the wiring schema
Hi,
I think you are looking for this,
Just google max7219 8x8 matrix
and look in the image listing.
Tom..
Hi,
Could you just explain the positive and negative wiring in the diagram? Unable to understand it

Which part? It has VCC and GND clearly indicated, as well as how the LEDs are to be wired. I don't see any ambiguity there.
If you want to understand in depth how an LED matrix works - Google has all the answers available.
Hi,
Can you tell us your electronics, programming, Arduino, hardware experience?
Thanks.. Tom...
Just a hobbyist intermediate level Tom. Good knowledge with coding but not much with complex wiring /schema.
Worked with Arduino projects such as basic robots, home automation and recently working on a drone.
Standard leds have a negative and positive terminal, each row /column would have 8 leds each. I presume all the negatives for all 8 leds on each row have to be wire soldered/joined together and then connected to pin on max7219?
Likewise with the positive pins?

This is how to wire all the LED
Thanks a lot...just what I was looking for
Just a question in the instructables link....... Why do we need cathode solder wires as we have already soldered the cathodes earlier?
