A fatal error occurred: Could not open COM3, the port doesn't exist

im trying to upload my code to my esp32 dev v1 board and got this error. i already try using a different cable and still not work.

Has someone ever experienced this? Pls tell me on how you solved this issue.

The obvious question is, does the COM port exist or not ?

Is the port created when the ESP32 board is plugged into the PC, for instance, and can you select it from the IDE menu ?

Which version of the IDE do you use ?

I think sometimes this can happen if you have the serial monitor active, at least with visual studio code I always have to stop monitoring the serial and then i can upload new code to the arduino

I've moved your topic to a section of the forum that is more tailored to board detection and upload problems.
