I have no experience with the ESP32 (and probably can't help further) but answers to below questions can help others to help you.
- Which exact ESP32 board do you use?
- Is COM3 indeed your ESP32? Does it disappear from the list of ports when you disconnect the board?
- Anything in Windows device manager indicating a problem?
- Which version of the IDE are you using? You did post in IDE 1.x but that is not always a guarantee that one posted in then correct section (no offence intended).
Did you select it or did the IDE. Check the tools and be sure the correct board is selected.
