You may have used chips which had the fuses set before but not this time. Factory new chips are set to run at 1MHz. In the Arduino IDE, fuses are set when you burn bootloader. I must confess - well, I am going to anyway - that the only time I read my car manuals is when I have to reset the radio security code. "One day" I will read them cover to cover and discover what I have been missing. :grinning:

I read mine cover to cover once, and you're not missing much. A 1/4 watt resistor data sheet is much more entertaining.
