Adjusting voltage from a 150V linear DC Power supply

I am aware of the dangers of higher voltages: my lab ran old-school DNA sequencers at 6000 volts in electrophoresis tanks open to the elements. Those PSUs supported more mAs than what I have here at 150V.

Just a thought, seeing as it's Xmas afternoon, I run universal motors at 160-volts DC from Nano controlled PWM. All works fine. Nano inputs to PWM driver chip, driver chip drives MOSFET.

Never tried it, but would a capacitor on the PWM output give you a variable DC voltage? You might have to play around with values and loads. It might not be smooth or fast enough for your needs.

I’ve built PWM circuits for the Nano before, but I’ve never seen them used to control piezos. Intuitively, I would think that PWM, at movement frequencies I need, would be too fast for the aruino to produce. Or, if they could be produced by another DAC, it would be close to the resonance of the crystal (mine is at 359 kHz)

PWM runs at 10k-Hz.
I was just thinking that putting a capacitor would give you a variable voltage to play with.
The high DC voltage is easy with Transformer (toroidal for no particular reason), full wave bridge and suitable capacitor.
