hi. i have one question. if we can make 0-5v to 0-20ma/4-20ma converter, is there any way we can make 0-5v to 0-10kohm. I am looking for this type of converter. please do help me on this matter. thanks
You may need a digital potentiometer.

My question is i need a converter that can convert from 0-5vdc to 0-10kohm. Usual we have 0-5v convert to 0-20ma/4-20ma.. my application need me to regulate the resistor by using signal from 0-5vdc.. im not so good in electronics so here i am asking about the circuit. Maybe one of the master here can trach me how to make a simple one

hi.. if u make step up moduler converter 0-5v - 0-20ma. the scale should be like this :-
0v = 0ma, 1v = 4ma, 2v = 8ma, 3v = 12ma, 4v = 16ma, 5v = 20ma.
so i think i want to make the same scale as this but to regulate the resistor value by using voltage.. Step up moduler 0-5v - 0-10kohm.
so the concept is the same as above.
0v = 0ohm, 1v = 2000ohm, 2v = 4000ohm, 3v = 6000ohm, 4v = 8000ohm, 5v = 10000ohm..
the voltage input 0-5v is variable up and down. is it possible to make this?

I will apply minimum 1v and maximum 5v to this resistor. this resistor need to handle max voltage 12vdc.
Why does it need to handle 12V if 5V is the maximum you will apply to it?

i will apply max 5v to control the resistor but the resistor is use to step up the step up moduler 5-vdc ~ 3-36vdc.
i had step up moduler 5vdc ~ 3-36vdc. that one is regulated by trimpot. now i want to remove the trimpot and use this variable resistor that control by voltage to control that moduler. thats is the purpose of this discussion. my question is, is it possible to make it?

Thanks for sharing more information. Now your question no longer sounds crazy.
I suggest you perform a few tests.
Measure the voltage across the trimpot's fixed terminals and between it's wiper and ground at various settings.
Then remove the trimpot from the module and connect it up to the module again but using 2 wires to connect up the fixed terminals and connect your multimeter so you can measure the current flowing through the wiper terminal at various settings.
These measurements will be important when selecting a suitable digipot.
