Air pressure sensor - Tire pressure

Hello everyone

I´m looking for a sensor that can be used with arduino and can read air pressures between 5 and 20 psi, I have already searched a lot but havent found any sensor that can read this range of pressure and have a good price.

The sensor will be used with a solenoid to calibrate a jeep tire pressure.

Anyone can help me ?

20 psi = 1.38 bar = 138 kPa

I can't find a price or a seller.

Perhaps the MPX5500 or MPX5700 or MPX5999, they costs 20 dollars on Ebay.

thanks for helping.

The MPX5500 and the MPX5999 are diferential pressure sensor, to measure a tire pressure I think I need a gauge pressure sensor .

The MPX5700 is the one that is closer from what I need, I´m just dont know how will be the accuracy of it reading pressures between 5 and 20 psi as the sensor is rated for up to 100psi.

Gauge pressure is the difference between atmospheric pressure and the measured pressure, so you can use a differential pressure sensor and simply leave one connection (low pressure leg) open to atmosphere.

Lots of cars have them now, I don't know how they work, but it is hardly rare or exotic any more.

There are a lot of kits on ebay

Try search with "tire pressure monitor wireless" $100-$300 dollars.
