hi,my project requires to monitor pressure sensor from the range 0 -6.5kg/cm2 ..can anyone suggest pressure sensor for this range
How much kPa is that ? Is that 637 kPa ? That is 6 bar ? that is a lot.
Should it be an industrial sensor, or can it be a simple bare sensor ?
Does it have to accurate ?
Can you tell us what your project is ?
At mouser.com, they have a good search and selection, you can find almost anything.
its about 6.37 bar. its the pressure of compressor that is to be monitored by the arduino..if the pressure falls below 6.5 then arduino activates a relay
Well ? did you search at mouser.com ?
If I select 10 bar pressure sensors, a number of 5V analog HoneyWell sensors are in the results.
thanks for your suggestion.i went through mouser.com and found out a pressure sensor from kavlico PS312-7G-2 of range 0 to 7 bar .
In the datasheet the supply voltage for the sensor is 5v.
i thought of using the same power supply that is used to power my arduino that is 9v/1A, can use the
output from the 78M05 regulator as power to the sensor or can use a voltage divider which would be suitable.
How much current does it need?
Voltage divider, no, no matter what.
Parallel regulator with Arduino supply would be fine. Don't forget caps on the input & output per 78M05 datasheet.
the sensor requires 2.2mA current and 5v supply
You can power it from the 5V header then.
okay but i am going to use two air pressure sensors of same ratings to sense compressor pressure level of two different compressors so can i use the same supply from 5v header to power both
Yes.
Did you select that pressure sensor because it is close to 6 bar ? A pressure sensor that is made for 20 bar might be more accurate. The resulting accuracy depends on many things.
The Kavlico PS312 are expensive, more that 100 dollars, and I think that it is not possible to connect a tube to it.
anyone can help me, script code for water pressure 0 till by 2.5 MPa (Fluide Pressure Sensor 2.5 MPa).thanks
12bar US$12.29
Leo..
yes i chose the pressure sensor as it is close to 6 bar but is such a wide range of pressure sensor 0-20 bar is required for correct accuracy?or shall i medium range of 1 to 10 bar will be suitable?
i went through the 20 range of pressure sensors one problem i found in using it is they require 240 v power supply where as my power supply is limited to 72 v from battery
