Am i able to use 12v-24v Digital encoder with Arduino 5v ?

Am i able to use 12v-24v Digital encoder with Arduino 5v ? I ordered the wrong encoder and it has a wire 12v-24v , it it possible to make it work with 5v , or do I need an external psu ?

Will appreciate any feedback!

Post a link to the encoder data sheet or product page.

You will need a 12 to 24V power supply for that encoder, and suitable voltage dividers between the encoder outputs and Arduino inputs.

Be sure to connect the grounds.

So you are saying i need a suitable psu for the encoder , but what psu can I use? I only have a 12v ATX psu that is rater for 30amps . Also I have XL4015 Dc to Dc which can output 1.25-32V from a battery charger project , that changes output voltage , will that work?

Either power supply will work. The sensor requires 12 to 24 V and will not draw more than 80 mA.
