I have a new Arduino 101, and i wanted to read the IMU-Data and send them over the serial port, this is basically what the RawImuDataSerial example does.
It works for short time (18-20 seconds), than it does nothing for 5 seconds and then it is working again.
Than it repeats this cycle over and over, i have absolut no idea why. Does something trigger the reset?
And it gets even worse, the same happens when i run the BLINK example.
Any thoughts / ideas?
I really liked the idea of a arduino with already integrated IMU / BLE, but at the moment it's a huge disappointment. I had a lot of trouble until i succeeded in uploading the first sketch, and even now it can't do the most basic things. I can't believe that they sell it in this state.
Hi fabi485,
the problems you are experiencing could be caused by:
- a faulty board (possible but unlikely)
- an insufficient power source (like an USB hub)
If you could reproduce the issue with the same board on another PC or another USB port it would be a good way to exclude one of the causes.
I tried different things that partly solved the problem, but i still don't understand it.

I powered the Arduino by a usb ac adapter, no connection to the PC, in this configuration it worked stable and fine without any problems.

If i connect it to my computer and only listen to the serial port (via the serial monitor in the arduino ide) it also works stable and fine. But after i uploaded a sketch the problem occurs again. When i restart the computer or logout / login the problem is gone, until i upload a sketch again. I use Linux on my PC (debian jessie 64bit).
I think a can exclude a defect board / insufficient power source, seems that it is a software-problem on my pc.
As soon as i have access to another PC i will try it there.....
I'm facing a similar problem with Arduino 101. I do not think it is a power/pc issue because mine started working flawlessly when I put a 100ms delay.
