Arduino and ESP8266 WiFi module, serve as AP and connect to WiFi in hydroponic grow tent

Hi everyone,

We have a research project where we are hosting an AI on an Arduino Mega ( We are using Ultra Tiny ML ). The mega is then attached to a temp & humidity, waterflow, Ph and EC sensor in an hydroponics grow tent . From there we are making use of relays to allow the AI to start and stop the water pump, a FAN, a Grow Light, extractor FAN and around 5 peristaltic pumps that pump PhUP and Down, nutrients and clean water.

WE use an ESP8266 WiFi module to create a local WiFi network so that farmers can turn pumps etc on or off if the AI makes a mistake . This all works well (after months of fiddling ) and is done via an android app.

We have deployed our tents to farmers in rural South Africa and they have asked if we can have the hydroponics tents serve the data over the local WiFi network, but also break out onto the internet . Would I need to use two separate ESP modules for this ?
