Arduino Coins acceptor connections

hello, i'm new using Arduino so i don't yet understand all connections allowed by Arduino. i've an MEI Cashflow 115 DFx Coin Validator (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Video-Game-Parts-MEI-Cashflow-115-DFx-Coin-Validator-/370870720206?pt=UK_Video_Games_Coin_Operated_MJ&hash=item56599e16ce) and i want to reader input coins using my arduino. i already saw an adafruit coins acceptor (http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2012/07/27/counting-money-with-a-coin-acceptor/) however my device has an 'Interface Connector (CF952X/CF952Xe only, Dual polarity and BCO)' with 16 pins much more than adafruit 4 pins acceptor. Someone can explain me how sould i connect this 16 pins to arduino? ya, in device datasheet showed above they talk between 17 and 15 pins but may device have 16 pins who is very strange, however i don't understand reason.
