It's my first project and I don't know what I'm doing but does this schematic make sense?

Without knowing anything about the hardware involved, hard to tell how the optocoupler will handle the coil pickup. On the output side, appears to be a regular engine ignition circuit but not enough information to determine how the IRFB3306 device will perform with the other parts.

Look at this, for example. It is usual to use an SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) in such applications. I've used a similar circuit for an electric fence type application controlled by an ATTINY85.
