Arduino Does not show up in Device Manager when connected

I have an Arduino Uno.

Arduino is not showing up in device manager (not in ports or as an unknown device).

Physically on the board the light turns on when connected to some power source.
The light with "L" and the power on turns on.

I tried changing cables and tried using in 2 different computers and a laptop it does not make any sound or anything when i connect it to my pc or laptop.

Is it a genuine UNO?

If it is, then sometimes the ATMEGA16 device that handles the USB comms gets messed up.

This might help:

Idk the chipset says
ATMEL (its beside and above that "atmega" 1421)
ATMEGA 328-PU

there is another chip beside RX TX which says
ATMEL Mega 16 V2
1652 PH
A8QCAA

Please post a close, in focus well lit photo of the UNO with the USB cable plugged in to it.

Also, has this ever worked? If it did, what was the last thing you did? Do you have ANYTHING connected to it other than the USB cable?

Sadly it never worked before but it used to get detected before like the beep would come in my windows 7 earlier but when i got my new pc it does not work i tried using it back in win 7 in my friends pc still it did not detect it did not work but . And no i did not connect anything just the usb cable to it.

The USB cable does not looked like it is pushed all the way in!

No its attached correctly haha

OK, trying to help here and you 'haha' - was only the first thing, but good luck with that attitude.

Bye

Does your new computer beep when you connect other devices? I ask because that sound is configurable, so if it is turned off and the beep is the sole indicator you are using for the "working' state, then the lack of a beep would be misleading.

Your photos show you have an ATMEGA16U2 as the USB to serial interface.

You could try following the guide I posted previously. The image in the guide shows a slightly different board layout around the 6-pin header by the RESET button.

Ehh

Can you send me the link ?

It's a little complicated.

The thing is my board does not show up in the device manager right so how ?? that's my issue How do i proceed with the first step ?

Tried another USB cable ?

Yes.

I believe that, given yours looks tanked, you may proceed to Step 2.
(It looks like Step 1 is like a prophylaxis - for pre-tanked units.)

How do i reset like i dont find the Reset and GND pins like that of specified in the Image there
