Ubuntu is not a language.
But you can do it.
Plenty of examples if you had bothered to Google.

What do you propose to do with it? Are you already a competent Java programmer?
Java is a program that runs on a PC. You can certainly write a PC program in Java that can communicate with an Arduino. Pretty much any PC programming language can do that. My demo uses Python and I suspect that will be easier than Java if you are a beginner.

This is an Arduino Forum - not a Python Forum. I am not going to try to write a beginner's guide to Python. There are probably hundreds of them on the web already. There are also many books you could buy.
