Arduino Nano Power supply

Hi, I'm making a spider robot (12 microservos + HC-06) and I've bought an Arduino Nano with the I/O shield. What's the power that I should use? I have a bunch of AA 1.5v batteries, so it would be ideal to use like 6v/9v...

I am using 9v battery in the VIN pin of my nano. Working great for long time. No heating of the regulator. It does get hot while using 12v.

9V batttery to just power a Nano is fine. But 12 servo's is a whole different cup of tea!

To start with, the Nano regulator isn't capable of driving a servo, let alone 12 servo's. So you need a battery with a voltage the servo's like or use an external regulator. Keep in mind a small servo can easily pull 1A!

And AA batteries don't hold that much power. 12 servo's is a lot! (at least I expect them to all move of course..)
