Arduino pro mini upload error

1 week ago I bought an arduino pro mini(5V, 16mhz), I uploaded the code using an arduino UNO and it worked the first time, after a few days I tried to upload the code again and it did not let me, the arduino pro mini green light did not blink, and in the Arduino UNO, the RX LED only blinks 3 times and the Arduino IDE only stays in “Uploading”. I get this error:

I connect the arduino pro mini to UNO like this:

RTD(pro mini)---->Reset(UNO)
TX(pro mini)---->TX(UNO)
RX(pro mini)---->RX(UNO)
Vcc(pro mini)---->5v(UNO)
Gnd(pro mini)---->gnd(UNO)

You need to connect reset to reset, not the pin that would take the DTR line.

It worked the first time because there was nothing loaded on the pro mini, so it was continually running the bootloader. Once there's a sketch, you need to successfully reset it.

What the hell is with so many people using a $25 official uno board as a substitute for a $2 serial adapter? How many times do you think you'll be able to insert and remove that chip before you mangle the pins and have to replace the chip?

I Connect the reset pin of the pro mini to the UNO reset and still the same. Then I tried to connect the UNO reset to GND and nothing.

There is a slightly older but excellent thread here on the topic.

Wow thats was all of 15 seconds using the forum search...There are more of course.
