Arduino + Raspberry Pi for wall plotter

Dear all,

I hope this is the correct place where to post this question.

I am reading several threads to figure it out how to build a wall plotter.
The majority of the projects are based on Arduino + ramps but some of the best results I could see are based on a synergy between Arduino and raspberry pi.

Am I correct?
Are there any link I could refer to or any help to clarify how to combine and link both?
