Arduino Short Circuited Windows

I have a project which I've uploaded without any problems to my Arduino Uno Board and I accidentally short circuited my Arduino's power rails which shut down my computer. I was able to turn on my PC again but my Arduino Uno Board can't be detected anymore. There are nothing in the Ports list. I've looked in the Device manager and there are no COM ports showing up, neither a device is being detected. The Device Manager doesn't refresh when I plug in my Board. But when I use other devices such us USB Mouse and Flash drives, they seem to be detected. I've tried all of my USB ports with the Arduino, but still no clue. What is the problem. Thanks in advanced.

Probably something goes on the Arduino, lots of possibilities: on-board DC regulator, USB/Serial transceiver chip, fuse, ferrite bead, etc. The repair is not trivial for not experienced people. Consider to buy a new one. Also USB port on your comp can be affected.
For the future, unplug the board from PC and power before any HW changes, especially if you are playing with wires. Consistently check your circuit before attaching to the power or USB.
