Arduino + Touchpad. Help

Hi there,

As the topic says i would like to connect a touchpad to an arduino atMega328. I was searching on the internet and seeing some documentation about how is it done and there is a lot describing the procedure but normally with touchpads that have 4 pinouts...

Mine is a Synaptics touchpad with the CI model T1004B 0419 F2N58
The model itself is a TM42PUZ307.

Now in this documentation http://www.isdaman.com/alsos/hardware/mouse/mouse1.pdf , it helpedme understanding the similarities between this type of interface with the PS/2 interface.
However this model has 14 pinouts or so(cant count them so well because they are very very tiny) and after a lot of search i cant found any example that is related with this type of model, normally i find touchpads with 4 pinouts, even the documentation is not saying about a synaptics model that is like the one i have...

If someone has the same or knows where is the CLK,Data, etc pinouts i would be glad someone could tell me.

Thank you in advance :).

hi,

there are some examples here:
http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1197235191

and this is the playground trackpad page:
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Main/Trackpad

best thing would be to search on the web for a datasheet or contact the manufacturer.

tjookum, yeah i seen the first example but its like i said its normally models that have 4 pinouts or 6...

I am trying really hard to find one like mine and i found it now!

However as he is describing i cant understand why he doesnt mention the GND pinout, which pin is for the GND!.

Please watch the video, he in the end starts to show in detail which are the pins so you can skip to almost the end of the video

The model he is using is exactly mine. Please watch the video and try to see if u can find GND pin... thank you
