Good day!
I would to ask the community if do you of organizations that would assist us in starting a robotics club for our school. I have learners who are interested in pursuing the field of robotics but have difficulty in procuring materials for it.
Amazon.com never fails me.
thanks.
Hi, @jmlomoljo
Welcome to the forum.
Where in the world are you located?
Does your education system have a STEM program.
‘STEM’ stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Tom...
Hi Sir Tom! Yes our educational system has STEM Program. I am from Philippines.
Hi,
Then your education officials that are running/responsible for STEM should be able to help you.
Tom..
@TomGeorge is this the first time you have been called that, or is it not unusual?
I'm in Thailand and can find a lot of things on Lazada.
that should be the case... but apparently there are constraints on the procurement aspect... ;(
Sounds like you want free stuff.
I assume you know about First robotics? This is a team competition with world wide presence including the Philippines.
Here in the US robotics teams are mentored by engineers in industry. This means that volunteers from that sponsor work with the team to build robots for competitions.
Maybe there is some company where you live which could ask for volunteers. Why volunteer? Well it’s good public relations with the community and often something that is helpful for the volunteers resume and actually can be fun.
In my region (county) we also had a county competition so it doesn’t need to be an international competition. County in the fall First in the spring.
Hello.
Yes I have an idea about the competition.
Actually, I contacted Lego Education but it is only limited to the US. Lego provided me with the list of distributors and sadly in the link provided the Philippines is not in the list.
The Department of ICT in our country provided training for the learners last week where they aspired to expand their knowledge for robotics and to join competitions. Our Department of Education though we have STEM in our curriculum is not really into robotics and our procurement laws in our country also places constraint in procuring units for the use of the club I am currently doing a leg work to accomplish.
Do you know of companies possibly be able to offer assistance?
Thank you so much for spending time in assisting me with this concern.
Sorry no. When I was involved it was all local companies.
