Associating the project with the processor - important

Hello Arduino IDE developers. I program a lot for different versions of Arduino. During the course of the day, I have to select the Arduino model multiple times when I open a project. The function of assigning a processor to a project is very much needed. It is also important that each open Arduino IDE session has the correct type of processor. Currently, the processor type is changed in every window.

There is a feature request for this functionality here: https://github.com/arduino/Arduino/issues/1481 There are other related requests linked off that one.

Note that the Arduino Web Editor and Arduino CLI already have this functionality
