AT-09 Bluetooth module not working properly

Hi everyone
So I recently got 2 AT-09 Bluetooth modules, but with my Android phone I cannot pair to any of them, it just keeps saying "Pairing..." Then I get a message that the phone cannot pair to the module, even tho I entered the correct pin, then I changed it to another pin and tried again, but it did not work. However, it connected in the "Bluetooth Electronics" app, but I want to be able to pair it so that I can use it in other apps that require that the device has already been paired.
Thank's

That is a BLE device and you don't pair it, you simply access it directly from the app, as you have already found out. Don't even ask about the password, the Internet is already littered with unfinished conversations on that matter.
It is possible that other more sophisticated BLE devices use a six-digit password.

I saw that GreatScott on YouTube paired a HM10 with a 6-digit passcode. And for example to use the BT_LED_CONTROLLER app to control RGB leds, I cannot connect it with the BLE Module because it is not paired

@pert what did you modify !?

Hi @00110010_techboy_00110010. I have moved your topic to a more appropriate forum category.

The category you selected is intended to be used only for topics directly related to the Arduino development software (e.g., Arduino IDE).

In the future, please take some time to pick the forum category that best suits the subject of your question. There is an "About the _____ category" topic at the top of each category that explains its purpose.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

I"ve never heard of GreatScott or of the "BT_LED_CONTROLLER app " so, until better information emerges, I assume it is all lies and secrets.

In this comparaison, he paired his HM10

In this video is the BT LED Controller app

AT-09 and HM-10 are similar, but not the same module. AFAIK The AT-09 module has a limited instruction set and does not support a PIN code.

I did not know that, but I was able to set the pin code via AT Commands, and I don't think I can remove it

No it isn't, it is clearly called Pixel LED bluetooth controller, and it is clearly using an HC-05. This does not mean it will work with BLE.

It looks like he might have done but didn't, and he doesn't actually know what he is doing and/or it is certainly not clear. He is using the terminal app by Morisch, which is commonly used these days as it will work with both HC-0x and BLE, but has to be set separately for each - as he shows, but doesn't actually explain. He also uses the words "seems to", which confirms he doesn't know what he is doing. There is no "seems to" in this business - something either does, or it doesn't and, in this case, it is the latter.

As I said, secrets and lies.

The HM-10/AT09 is a low-order BLE device with a reduced instruction set and offers very little over an HC-05. I guess it mainly exists for people who have self-inflicted themselves with an iPhone, and is not much value to an Android user. That said, you have already proven there is nothing actually wrong with them, and your needs about pairing might be more perceived than real anyway. The good thing about the HM-10 is that I am not aware of any fakes or duds.

In the home page it is called BT_LED_CONTROLLER. Nevermind..
I have a HC-05 but sends no response to AT commands, and did not work with the app to control the strip's color, as the leds only lit up in constant white. I think that I might damaged the module because I did not use any voltage divider when using AT commands, but I did not use it as a transmitter.
Anyways, I will develop an Android app for this project, it will ask for a pin code that the AT-09 will send as soon as a device is connected to improve security. It looks that I can end this topic here then because the BLE modules do not support pin codes, so let's wait for 6 months for the topic to be closed. Thank's everyone
