Atm style coupon intake

Hi,

For a personal project im looking to build a machine that takes in a coupon and scans it like a mony deposit in an atm.
the difficult part is finding a piece of hardware which is able to do the coupon intake, and after a long search i decided to try here.
hopefully somone knows a piece of hardware that can do paper intake.

You could consider a QR scanner ?

the issue with a barcode scanner is that it isnt automated to also take in the coupon so you can re-use it

What does that mean? Why don't you keep track of the codes you have read, so they can only be read once?

i want to connect it to a database in which i have different 1 use "coupons" in which i can see which coupon return and which one does not

So.... in the database you keep track of whether the coupon has been used. Am I missing something?

yes but i like it to be "taken" by the machine like an atm does. i could do this with extra motors or something but a prebuild would be handier

No doubt you could purchase one of those, since there are millions of them in use in parking lots. Start Googling and contacting suppliers. It will be expensive.

Keep watch https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=atm+machine+parts+accessories&_sacat=0&_dmd=2&_sop=15 on EBAY for something that interests you.

Additional note: All ATM input mechanisms contain motors and rubber wheels to separate possible multiple inputs. Like a card and a piece of paper under it or if feeding currency, they check for stacking of the bills. The upper wheels are steady while the underneath wheels turn backward. Other schemes are also used to ensure ONLY A SINGLE article is being fed into the testing mechanism. The controls for this are not trivial!

Consider using coins instead. Coin acceptors are Arduino compatible, cheap and reliable.
