Questa mattina ricevo (... ma l'avrete ricevuta anche voi) da Arduino SRL l'eMail che qui riporto per informare tutti sulle nuove norme a tutela dei minori di anni 13:
We are working constantly to make our platforms safe for our growing community of young users. We’re happy to inform you that the Arduino Science Kit Physics Lab e-learning platform is now COPPA compliant.
WHAT IS COPPA?
COPPA is a U.S. regulation which legislates the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13.
COPPA places such restrictions on website operators or online services for children under the age of 13, and on operators of other websites or online services who are aware that they obtain personal information online from children under the age of 13.
WHAT CHANGES FOR THE END USER
WHO ALREADY SIGNED UP?
Students under the age of 13 will not be able to:
- Create autonomously their own account. Teachers will manage their access from the dashboard, and create anonymised users on behalf of the students. Students who already signed up will be put through the new enrollment process to comply with our updated privacy settings;
- Upload any sensitive information;
- Access any social media links on the online platform (including YouTube).
Students under the age of 13 will only be allowed to access the Arduino.cc blog, forum, project hub in read-only mode, and their access will be restricted from any interaction with the rest of community members.
