AWT-EventQueue-0 error when starting IDE.

Getting this error when starting a fresh installation of 1.8.8 of the IDE on a new installation of Windows 10. No previous IDE installations were made on the system. IDE stays open and does not close. I haven't tried to compile with it yet.

Please try installing Arduino IDE 1.8.8. You can download it here:

1.8.1 is quite outdated.

1.8.8 is installed, I just typed in the wrong version number on that post above. I have 1.8.8 installed on my Windows 10 laptop at home and it starts fine with no errors. It's just this other computer I'm using it on which is also a 64bit Windows 10 version. The IDE when started does not completely draw itself. Such as none of the colors are displayed, it is just black and white and the Icon toolbar at the top of the IDE is not drawn. If I maximize the IDE window it refreshes and everything looks normal.

Also noticed that when opening the Library Manager that there is an error at the bottom in red saying "java.lang.NullPointerException".

Turns out the this was caused by the installation of Teensyduino. They offer a fix here
